Shane Daniel Keranen passed away on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014 at the age of 29 years old. Shane was born on April 28th, 1984 in Park Rapids, MN to Melody and Dave Keranen. He was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church, attended Menahga High School, and graduated in 2002. In high school Shane played basketball and baseball for the Braves. After his time at Menahga High, Shane went on to work in the golf industry for his entire career. He loved the game of golf and being outside, so it was a natural fit for him. Shane lived in Scottsdale, AZ working at both Desert Forest Golf Club and the TPC Scottsdale, before returning back to the Twin Cities to be closer to friends and family. He settled in at The Legends Golf Club in Prior Lake, MN as one of their Assistant Superintendents. Shane loved spending his free time attending professional sporting events, cheering on his friends playing Snurdbird baseball, ice fishing, hunting, and BBQing with his family. Those who preceded Shane in death are his grandfather Elmer Keranen, his grandmother Edna Keranen, another grandfather Ron Blom, uncle Leon Keranen, cousins Marah Blom and Katrine Savoie-Keranen. Shane is survived by his mother and father, Dave & Mel Keranen; brother and sister-in-law, Justin & Adrienne Keranen; grandmother Janet Blom; aunts and uncles Dave & Kathy Blom, Kris & Brian Suhon, John & Sharon Keranen, Leon & Carol Kaminski, Alan & Janice Walz, Gen Keranen, and numerous cousins and friends from everywhere. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Sunday, January 26, 2014 with prayer service at 7:30 PM at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN and one hour prior to the service at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Menahga. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Menahga, with Pastor John Ramsbacher officiating. Interment will be at the Menahga City Cemetery.
