William Louis “Willy” Bristlin, age 60, of Menahga, MN died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his home in Menahga, MN. Willy was born to Clarence and Rose Mary (Schmitz) Bristlin on November 30, 1952 in Mayville, North Dakota. He completed his schooling and served two years in the United States Army and was Honorable Discharged. Willy was united in marriage to Debra Dormanen; this union was blessed with one daughter Angela. Willy worked various jobs, including Jack Kangas Construction, Olson Trucking, Hauling Sugar Beets, Farming and at the Menahga School. He was a Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan, he also enjoyed NACAR and he was proud to have grown up in the area of muscle cars. Fishing, Hunting, and camping were also favorite pastimes. Willy is survived by his wife Debra Bristlin of Menahga; daughter, Angela Sanvik and her husband Brad and grandson, Alexander Peterson all of Crystal, MN; sister, Janette Ring and her husband Paul of West Fargo, ND; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2013 at First English Lutheran Church Menahga with visitation two hours prior to the service at the church. Pastor Steven A. Bruer and Pastor Michael McIlheran will officiate. Jason Wright will serve as organist. Congregational hymns are “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace.” Special recorded music is “Angels in waiting” by Tammy Cochran and “Born Free” by Kid Rock. Active Casketbearers include Bradley Sanvik, Charlie Dormanen, Curt Dormanen, Benny Olson, Mike Heiser, Steve Lenarz and Alex Peterson. Honorary Pallbearers are all who called him Friend. Military Honors will be provided by Guy L. McDermeit VFW Post #6206 of Menahga, MN. Interment will be at Menahga City Cemetery.
