David Ralph Tullis

David Ralph Tullis, age 84, of Sebeka, MN, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. David was born to Howard and Orall (Glass) Tullis on November 22, 1928 in Sebeka, MN. He attended grade school in Otter Township and graduated from Sebeka High School in 1946. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1948. David had many jobs through out the years including working at the Nimrod Creamery, Iron Mines in Northern Minnesota, Heavy Equipment Construction in Green Land and off Shore in Alaska, missile sites in North Dakota and off shore rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. He returned to Sebeka where he and his companion Janetta Limanen spent many years together. David considered her grandchildren, Adrienne and Whitney as his own. David enjoyed reading, especially Louie L'Amour books, watching old westerns and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. On May 9, 2013 his would have received his Medallion for 25 years of sobriety. David is survived by family and friends. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Sebeka United Methodist Church with Pastor Steven Koehne officiating. Jayne Koskiniemi will serve as organist. Honorary Pallbearers are all who called him friend. Berg Nylund American Legion Post #456 of Sebeka, MN will provide Military Honors. Inurnment will be at Sebeka West Cemetery at a later date.
