Wayne Keith Stomberg

Wayne Keith Stomberg passed away at his home February 6, 2013. Wayne Keith Stomberg was born August 28, 1962 in Denver, Colorado. He attended school in Colorado, Utah and his senior year in Menahga, Minnesota. He was an honor student and played football in Utah and Menahga where he graduated in 1980. Wayne worked in restaurant management for many years. He then started managing quick lube oil locations including being a district manager. These jobs moved Wayne and his family to many different cities including Minneapolis, St Paul, Chicago IL, Cincinnati Oh, Detroit Mi and Edmond OK. Wayne and his family moved back to Menahga Minnesota in 1991. Wayne started driving truck over the road for Daggett Truck lines. At Daggett he started participating in the Minnesota Truck driving rodeo. In 1999 Wayne started Driving for Transport Designs, Inc. and continued with the Minnesota Truck Driving Rodeo. In 2000 Wayne won his class at the Minnesota Truck Driving Championship and represented Transport Designs and the State of Minnesota at the Truck Driving Championship in New Orleans. Wayne placed 16th out of 49 competitors. In 2004 Wayne started driving for local companies, while managing his own fleet of trucks. In 2007 Wayne had an injury that caused Parkinsonism which changed his life. Throughout these last several years Wayne kept a pretty upbeat attitude through ups, downs, surgeries etc. Wayne enjoyed watching his kids sporting events and other activities, striking up conversations with anyone who crossed his path. Wayne would give you the shirt off his back if it would put a smile on your face. Wayne had a loyal and constant companion in his dog Tealc who was never far from his side. Wayne will be remembered for his leadership which inspired employees to go from making pizza to changing oil, living in Minnesota to moving out of state. Parents and kids, who barely knew the basics of baseball, would end up winning the Championship and loving their coach. Wayne will be missed and remembered by all of the people whose lives he touched. Wayne is survived by his daughters Tareyn Stomberg of Menahga, Shaylah Stomberg of Bemidji, MN; son Joshua and his wife Anne and Granddaughter Evelyn of Prior Lake, MN; mother and stepfather father Alice and Jim Dougan of Bend, Oregon; father and stepmother Keith and Marybeth Stomberg of Shoreview MN; two sisters Jaimie Stomberg and husband Matthew Mills of California; Sheryl Eskew of Oregon; and brother Christopher (Stomberg) Monroe of Highland Park, MN. Wayne was preceded in death by his brother Bryan (Stomberg) Monroe, Grandparents Albert and Thelma Stomberg and Conroy and Agnes Eastman. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at First English Lutheran Church in Menahga, MN.
