Sharon Lea Koski

Sharon Lea Koski, age 63, of rural Osage, MN, peacefully passed away at home on December 24, 2012. Sharon was born to Jonas and Myrtle (nee Eklund) Marjamaa on October 18, 1949, in the Finntown section of Butte, Montana. Her childhood was spent in Butte but her real love was Minnesota and Sharon spent most of her childhood summers staying with aunts and uncles on their farms around the rural Menahga, Wolf Lake, Hillview, and Evergreen areas. After graduation from Butte High School in 1968, Sharon moved to Minneapolis with two girlhood friends and worked at Ben-Ada Aluminum. On May 17, 1969, Sharon was united in marriage to Harold Koski at Wolf Lake, MN. Their early years were spent in Minneapolis and the surrounding area. Harold and Sharon were blessed with two children, daughter Jody and son Shane. In 1978 the family moved from Maple Grove to Spokane, Washington; but in 1984, after purchasing a farm in rural Osage, they returned home to Minnesota and have lived at the farm since then. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Erika, her family and friends, listening to music, and cooking. She loved a clean house and everyone felt welcome in Sharon's home. Sharon was outgoing, bubbly, generous, good-hearted, and genuinely loved all people. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Sharon is survived by her husband Harold, daughter Jody and granddaughter Erika of Menahga; son Shane of Midway; mother Myrtle Marjamaa and husband Carl Koepplin, sister LuWaana (Andy) Johnson, brother Ron (Debbie) Marjamaa, brother Dennis Marjamaa all of Butte, Montana; aunt Inez Eklund of Menahga; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her father Jonas Marjamaa and infant brother, maternal grandparents John and Ruth (nee Johnson) Eklund, and paternal grandparents John and Rose Marjamaa. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Menahga, MN with Pastor Steven A. Bruer officiating. Visitation will be at the Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka from 5-8 P.M. on Friday, December 28, 2012 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Active Casketbearers are Shane Koski, Wendell Jokela, Shawn Anderson, Mike Schmitz Jerry Eklund and Dennis Marjamaa. Interment services will be at the Green Valley Cemetery.
