Eugene Clifford Steinke

Eugene Clifford Steinke, age 79, of Sebeka, MN died, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Tri County Hospital in Wadena, MN. Eugene was born to Adolph and Anna (Knudson) Steinke on August 15, 1933 in Wadena, MN. He completed his eighth grade education at School District #48 in North Germany Township, Wadena County, MN. On November 13, 1956 Eugene was inducted into the United States Army. He was honorably discharged on October 31, 1962. Eugene was united in marriage to Shirley Holst on June 4, 1971 they resided in North Germany Township, where he spent his lifetime farming and logging. After his retirement they moved into Sebeka. Eugene is survived by his wife Shirley Steinke of Sebeka, MN; he is also survived by distant relatives, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services for Eugene Clifford Steinke will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church, North Germany Township with Pastor Raymond Hendrickson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Faye Mavis will serve as organist. Congregational hymns will include “Nearer My God to Thee,” “Amazing Grace” and “I Know that My Redeemer Lives.” Active Casketbearers will be family and friends. Berg Nylund American Legion Post #456 of Sebeka, MN will provide Military Honors. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in North Germany Township, Wadena County, MN.
