Arnold Edward Luoma age 77, of Sebeka, MN died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, MN. Arnold was born the fifth of six children, to Edward and Hilja (Roilo) Luoma on August 25, 1934 in Blowers Township Ottertail County, MN. He attended school at District 219. He worked on the family farm until his employment with Green Thumb as a custodian for Sebeka Public School, Grace Lutheran Church, Sebeka American Legion and the Sebeka Liquor Store. He also worked for Lake’s Construction until his retirement. Arnold was Baptized and Confirmed member of Grace Lutheran Church. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Beatrice Luoma and Ellen (Robert) Mattila brothers-in-law Arland Bauck and Murlyn Pudas. He is survived by sisters Ruth Pudas, Doris Bauck of Scappoose, Oregon; Jane (Robert) Darling of Chelmsford, Massachusetts; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will from 5-7 PM on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka with Pastor Mark Hesse officiating. Diane Crabb will serve as organist. Special music will be provided by Shelley Kangas and Ted Heino singing “How Great Thou Art” accompanied by Alice Gronlund. Congregational hymns will be “Beautiful Savior” and “Rock of Ages.” Active Casketbearers are Kristopher Peterson, Steve Mattila, Darrel Mattila, Les Gronlund, Tom Komppa and Ted Heino. Interment will be at Hay Creek Cemetery.
