He and his twin brother Howard were born at the Beguelin family farm on August 3, 1919 to Alfred and Emma (Mange) Beguelin. He attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Greene High School in 1938. He farmed with his parents, also worked for Greene Limestone, Oliver and Ford Tractor dealers. On February 22nd 1947 he married LaVonne Chapman, after a month long honey moon in the home of his twin brother Howard and wife Vada in Estacada, Oregon, they moved to the farm and purchased it from his parents a short time later. He operated a repair shop at the farm for many years. Being allergic to many farm chemicals he had to leave the area in the summer months. They purchased a lot and travel trailer and spent 15 summers on Blueberry Lake at Menahga, MN to be near their families. They moved for the first time when they purchased their retirement home in Menahga. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 ½ years also their son Myron Howard and daughter Joan Frances. Son-in law Eugene Tate of Sebeka, MN, three grandchildren Blaine Tate and wife Jill, Sheryl (Tate) and Cory Porter, Tanya and Troy Monson, also eight great grand children, Kellen Porter, Colton Monson, Lillian, Robin, Carley , Nathanael, Mackinlee and Halaina Tate, his twin brother’s wife Vada of Sandy, Oregon and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Doris and Blanche and their husbands, also twin brother Howard. After much concern about his meeting God he was searching his Bible and was reading Romans chapter 5 and came to verse 6. For when we were yet without strength in due time Christ died for the un Godly (un-God like). He found peace with God and peace of God through that verse, reading the whole chapter through he had peace with God and assurance seeing how he had trusted in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that God said was what he needed to enter heaven. Christ died for me. He attended the Aredale Hall and was in happy fellowship gathering to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ until complications from polio prevented his being able to attend. All the family of Francis wished to thank the staff at Tri-County Hospital Hospice Unit in Wadena for their kind dedicated care that we all appreciated. Wadena County hospice is wonderful! They all went far beyond the call of duty for the many things they did for him. Services and Interment were held August 6, 2011 at Hillview Cemetery, Hillview MN with his grandson Blaine Tate officiating.
