Phyllis Irene Lehmkuhl of Sebeka, MN died July 3, 2011 at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa, MN at the age of 88 years, 8 months and fourteen days. Phyllis was born October 19, 1922 to George and Nora (Miller) Eitel, the second of 3 children. She was married to Wilbert George Lehmkuhl on November 17, 1945 in Wadena, MN. Born to this union were daughter Barbara and son Brad. She lived all of her life in the Sebeka, area, was a homemaker and farmer working side by side with “Willy”. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka, American Legion Auxiliary in Sebeka and Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. in Wadena. Phyllis enjoyed her gardening and flowers as well as crocheting. Many babies have been recipients of her wonderful afghans and several brides, friends and relatives were recipients of other handiwork including her pineapple doilies. She collected antiques and Santa Clauses. She enjoyed the Minnesota Twins, Kirby Puckett and Jason Kubel were her all time favorite Twins players. Phyllis also enjoyed taking care of a few of the children in the area she especially enjoyed her grandson and great grandsons. Phyllis is survived by daughter Barbara Lehmkuhl of Browerville, MN; son Bradley (Colleen) Lehmkuhl of Sebeka, MN; grandson Travis (Trisha) Lehmkuhl of Miltona, MN; great grandsons Jacob, Mark and Tanner; sister Maxine Bailey of Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Nora Eitel, husband Wilbert, and brother Wallace Eitel. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, July 7 at the Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka, MN with Pastor Raymond Hendrickson officiating. Sara Erickson will serve as organist. Congregational hymns will be “Amazing Grace,” “Just as I Am,” “How Great Thou Art” and “On Eagles Wings.” Active Casketbearers will be Forrest Zoll, Lyle Edgeton, David Eitel, Paul Nolte, Joe Tellers, Waino Wierimaa and Peter Meyers Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery.
