Joshua Jack Kangas died March 24, 2011 at the age of 26 years. Joshua was born January 16, 1985 in Park Rapids, MN. He grew up in Sebeka, MN and was life long resident there. Joshua graduated from Sebeka High School in 2003. Joshua was Baptized and Confirmed at the Grace Lutheran Church where he remained a member. At a young age Joshua always had an interest in the outdoors, joining the Boy Scouts and winning first place in the Pine Wood Derby. As he grew older Josh began working with small engines eventually having his own lawn mowing business. Even as a young boy Josh would love to work on any kind of engine he could get his hands on and helped his dad restore a tractor. He loved working in the shop and getting his hands dirty. Joshua found his true passion around the age of twelve to become a truck driver he enjoyed everything truck driving had to offer, traveling to almost all 50 states. He loved looking at the scenery, and especially watching the sun set, and chasing storms when the chance allowed him. He simply just loved the freedom of the open road. Joshua was currently employed by T and M in Sebeka, MN as a mechanic working with his classmates. To all who knew him, Joshua was always willing to lend a helping hand whether it was to make everybody laugh with his sense of humor or being there just to listen. He loved to make everybody happy in any way he could. Josh's biggest joy in his life was his 4 year old son Loagon, he loved bringing Loagon in the truck with him. They also enjoyed playing with trucks and tractors and working on cars in the shop together. Josh will be truly missed by all, and as Josh would say "dar dar dar!" Joshua is survived by his son Loagon Kangas of New York Mills, MN; his father Jack Kangas and his wife Wanda of Menahga, MN, his mother Debra Wehlert and her husband Markus of Sebeka, MN; two sisters Cassie Lentz her husband Jeremy and their children Abigail and Clayton of Crosby, MN, Kayla Kangas (Doug) and children Roland and Preston of Menahga, MN; one brother Jamie Kangas of Brainerd, MN; grandparents; Ellen Kangas of Menahga, MN, Doris Grant of Sebeka, MN, Erika Albert and her husband Elmar of Edelbach Germany, a host of relatives including several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Adolph Kangas and Wayne Grant, and one uncle, Glenn Ritari. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service will be held on 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Sebeka, MN with Pastor Mark Hesse officiating. Lolita Myers will serve as organist. Avis Estabrooks and Sierra Milbradt will be singing “On Eagles Wings”. Congregational hymns will be “Jesus Loves Me,” “Children of the Heavenly Father” and “Rock of Ages.” Active Casketbeares will be Michael Lillquist, Jamie Kangas, Trish Townsend, Tina Larson, Stacy Daniel and Scott Kangas. Honorary Pallbearers are Loagon Kangas and all who called him friend. Interment will be at Sebeka West Cemetery, in Sebeka, MN.
