Bernard “Barney” William Fiedler 84, of Sebeka, MN, passed away on January 10, 2011. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on January 23, 2011 at Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka MN from 1-3pm. Barney was born in St. Joseph, MN on September 22,1926 to William and Mary (Schloemer) Fiedler. During Barney’s childhood the family moved to Little Fork. MN and he was raised on a farm outside of town. Barney worked for Boise Cascade and owned Barney’s Sanitation Service. He enjoyed moving to Jacksonville, Florida to celebrate his retirement with his wife Francis who passed away in 2003. He moved back to MN and lived in Sebeka. He enjoyed working four days a week at playing cards at many of the surrounding Senior Centers, going out for dinner at the local café and “hanging out and joking around” with his friends . He was a devoted father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by his family. Barney is survived by his children, Kathleen Johnson, Jim Fiedler and Bonny Pickar; first wife, Climena “Pete” Swanson; sisters, Dorothy Simmons and Marianne Petrie; grandchildren Theresa, Tracy, Lisa, Tony, Chris and Patrick; great-grandchildren, Jodi, Katie, Kyle, Christy, Devin, Chris, Brianna, Jordan and Madison; step-children, Judy, Jane, Bob and Cathy; cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Barney is preceded by parents, William and Mary; second wife, Francis (Paavola); brothers, Con, Norby, Charlie, Herby and two infant brothers; sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Born and Jean Merkling. Inurnment Services will be held at a later date in Guthrie, MN. Arrangements were entrusted to Wevley Funeral Home.
